The place

Located in Marathopoli, in the region of Messinia, this place lies between the land and the sea.
An olive grove shaped by time, light and silence, only a short distance from the coast and close to the village, yet naturally secluded and protected.
The surrounding landscape is calm and open. The rhythm here is slow, defined by daylight, wind, and the changing seasons rather than by schedules or demands.
The Land & Its Setting

The place unfolds within a four-acre olive grove, just a few minutes’ walk from the sea and a short distance from the village. Despite its proximity to both, it maintains a strong sense of privacy and quietness.
Olive trees dominate the land, creating natural shade, openness and a grounded atmosphere. The terrain is gentle and walkable, inviting unhurried movement and time spent outdoors.
Spatial Elements of the Place

The space is composed of simple, functional structures that blend naturally into the landscape.
Large bell-shaped tents are positioned throughout the olive grove, accompanied by a small wooden room, all placed with care to preserve openness and visual harmony.

Shared facilities include outdoor bathrooms with hot water, an open-air kitchen area, and a stone building used for storage and basic kitchen equipment. The emphasis throughout is on simplicity, practicality and respect for the natural environment.

Places to Pause

Across the land, several small areas are designed for rest and stillness.
Seating corners under the trees, hammocks, and quiet outdoor lounges allow for moments of pause, observation and ease.
Each area offers space without enclosure — encouraging presence rather than distraction.
Movement, Gathering & Grounding

Beneath the pine trees stands a wooden platform, measuring 6 x 12 meters, suitable for movement, still practices or quiet gathering. Nearby, a long wooden table with benches creates a natural point for shared moments and conversation.

A reflexology path runs through planted herbal beds, inviting slow, barefoot walking among aromatic plants. This gentle route encourages grounding, sensory awareness and a subtle connection between the body, the earth and the surrounding herbs.
The Character of the Place

This is not a place of noise or excess.
It is defined by restraint, openness and rhythm.
The space invites simplicity — time without pressure, movement without urgency, and presence without performance. Everything here exists to support a calm relationship with the land, the body and the surrounding environment.
The Wider Landscape

The wider Messinian landscape offers exceptional natural and cultural depth.
Within short distances lie beaches, wetlands, archaeological sites and traditional settlements, including Voidokilia Beach, the Navarino Bay, the town of Pylos and the archaeological site of Ancient Messene.
The area continues to grow while remaining deeply connected to its natural and historical identity.
